Hi guys and welcome to my first Blog. A lot has been said following the announcement of the MOBO Gospel Category Nominees, but what do you, the people think? Who should have been nominated? What do you think of the category as a whole? Should emerging U.K artists like Victizzle but pitted against Established U.S Number one selling Acts like Mary Mary in the same category? For those of you who don't know, the nominations go as follows: BEST GOSPEL ACT
Something that has bothered me about these nominations is the total absence of GUVNA B, does anyone know how this was allowed to happen? He has got to have been one of the hardest working artists in the last year, and one of the more obvious choices for this award, or so i thought. Moving to surprise inclusions, i have to say i was a little surprised to see "Desire to Worship God" nominated, not because i don't think they are deserving or good enough, nothing like that, simply because i had literally never heard of them before this. That may actually be my own fault but i guess like most others and especially with the absence of Guvna B it was just a surprise to see an unknown name. For now i will put this down to my own ignorance but what do you think? I have seen New Direction Crew around for quite a while now and i love their music, Victizzle is a name i have heard alot of recently and their is definitely a huge buzz around him and then we have Mary Mary and Kiki Sheard to complete the picture and i guess, for me at least, it just didn't fit. In the same breath as all that i have said, let me congratulate all of the artists that have been nominated, it is always great to see your work acknowledged by others, it's not an easy place to be (the music industry) and you are out there making the difference, keep up the good work!!
