Vicky Beeching is fast becoming a favourite artist of ours for many different reasons.

The album kick's off with 'Salvation Day', an up tempo guitar driven song which is all about how Jesus has given us salvation through forgiving our sin's and is really about rejoicing and knowing that we're saved by grace and thanking Him for giving such a wonderful gift to us. Vicky's vocal's really stand out on this song and really express the feeling of the song well. The vocal arrangement is very simple but very nice on this song. 'Salvation Day' is a nice song and a good one to start the album off with...it leaves you wanting more and we're hoping that's what we'll get from the rest of the album.

'Blessing And Honour' catches you and draws you in from the beginning. The way the song transitions from the intro into the verse is really nice and the use of dynamics really help the message Vicky is trying to get across, come across well. This is the kind of song you'd hear sung in church. The lyrics are easy to catch (especially on the chorus) and the melody is simple and it will stay in your mind and your spirit for a while. This is a great worship song and it could easily become an anthem.

'Deliverer' is a one of our favourite songs on the album. It's start's off really mellow and atmospheric and it sounded and felt great. However the song picks up after the first verse and fuses the original styling of the song with a really nice drum groove that really just makes the song feel good. Everything about this song has been put together well. It seems to tell a story with the lyrics telling the story and the music being the illustrations. The way the music reflects the lyrics and dynamics of this song is great.  The song is all about God delivering us from every chain holding us and just wanting Him to have His way and surrendering to Him.

'Breath Of God' is a song reaching out to God and could be used as a prayer for times of prayer and devotion in our personal lives which is always great. Sometime's when you don't know what to pray, prayerful songs can really help and Vicky has done a great job with this one and we're sure it's going to be a favourite for a lot of people.

'Inhabit The Praise' has a great guitar riff on the intro courtesy of Stu G from Delirious?. It just has a feel good sound and it draws you into the song. This is another song that we can hear being sung in churches too. It's great that a lot of Vicky's songs are a resource to the church and relate to the praise and worship of the church too.

So far it's been quite enjoyable listening to this album. The different song's sound very similar though but we can only imagine that this is intentional to make the album flow well and it suceeds at doing that.

The introduction to 'Glory To God Forever' was an interesting one, almost reminding us of an old English musical backed by a marching band. It didn't really give any clues to what the song would sound like or even what emotions it would reflect which was good because it made us want to listen further. One again this song feature's a very simple chorus which is easy to catch and we're finding that this is becoming more popular in music of all kinds. In Vicky's case she's drilling praise and worship into our brains and so at different times in the day her songs come back to our minds and so when we start singing them, we end up singing songs like 'Glory To God Forever' which is a great praise to have on your lips.

'One Day' is the kind of song that will have nodding your head, maybe even jumping up and down...possibly even with one fist in the air! :-) It's an uplifting song and it gives that feeling from the introduction right through to the end. For all the drummer's out there, there's a nice drum break down near the end that just sounds SWEET! Nothing complex or mind-blowing, just sounds PHAT for want of a better word. Maybe it's because we're muso's ourselves that it stands out to us.

'Break Our Hearts' is a song we weren't too sure about from the title. How many of us want to be heart-broken? And yet this song seems to ask for just that. We automatically knew that there was a deeper meaning and were intriuged to find out what that meaning was. From the first line, it was clear that this was a song about is breaking down and removing anything that is not of God and asking God to really give us a heart transplant replacing our heart's with His. Often times we become self absorbed with us, what we want and all of those things but at the end of the day, we should desire the things God desire's and also the things that break God's heart (like people living without Him, poverty etc) should break our's too. The music on this song really creates a contemplative mood, just by the way the melody is arranged and the sounds used too.

We haven't been fan's of Vicky's music since the start like some of you...in-fact compared to some of you we're new fan's having only followed her for around 2 years. 'Emmanuel' is a really heart-felt song and really took us back to Vicky and her worship like when she would do an acoustic set with just her and her guitar, although this song has more instruments in it, it's still very acoustic, soft and personal. This song really reminds us that it was a sacrifice for Jesus to die for us and that we didn't deserve it but through all of that He still did and He SURE doesn't regret it, even till this day. We shouldn't remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us at Easter time only but this is the kind of song that we can hear being sung in churches at Easter or as the back-drop to some Easter themed dramatic presentations. It's a beautiful song and one that really connects you to the Cross and all it represents.

'Refuge' reminds us that our refuge is in Jesus. The song feature's Stu G again, playing the guitar too, leading the music and creating the feel for the song. This song is inviting and takes us on a journey almost building a case to prove that Jesus is our refuge and we think it's safe to say Vicky argues her point very well. Case closed!

'Listening' is a song that is asking God to speak to us and share His heart with us which ties in with 'Break Our Hearts' really well and continues the theme of our lives being more focused on what God wants than what we want in every area of our lives. It's clear where Vicky's heart is and that she really wants to see more of God's heart in our lives as Christian's and see us living the life God desire's for us all to live.

'Undivided Heart' is a great song. There's something about the vocal melody and how Vicky expresses the lyrics. Again, this song draws from the theme of allowing God to have control our hearts, asking for an 'Undivided Heart' and soul so we can serve God in the truest way possible...whole-heartdly.

'The Wonder Of The Cross' has an awesome guitar riff driving. This song has a modern day hymn vibe. The way the song builds is quite majestic and really is one of those songs that you sing from the heart...a song that tells a story... A song that engages you straight-away. It almost reminds us of 'In Christ Alone' written by Stuart Townsend and Keith Getty which is a massive compliment considering the success of that song and how it's bein sung all over the world.

Over-all, this is a GREAT album. We love it and think you will too. Praise & Worship leader Phil Wickham feature's heavily on the album too playing the guitar and adding great worship to this album. One thing we've noticed on this album is that there's some GREAT songs on it, however you could easily miss how great some of them are because so many of the songs sound so similar. If you had the album playing in the beackground it could easily sound like one long song. This isn't really a bad thing though because (un-like some albums) this album has a co-hesive sound and sounds like an album and not a bunch of songs slapped on a CD. You can hear the theme's through-out the album in the different songs and the album really gives out a clear message... We'll let you decide what that message is because each of us will have our own convictions from this album.
