We’ve been speaking to Kristina for a while now and it’s been really easy to relate with her. Maybe that’s because we’re Pastor’s kid’s like her and obviously, music lovers.  We had the opportunity to interview Kristina too, just so we (and you) can get to know more about the person behind the music. Knowing more about artist’s always allows us to understand their music better and relate to them and what they’re saying to God and to us through their music.

Kristina is a new artist with great potential, her music is cross cultural and cross generational too. Kristina is on a mission to take her music to places where “traditional Gospel” music isn’t normally heard and make the Gospel of Jesus Christ understandable to the people of the 21st Century. Touted as the breakout artist for 2010 in Gospel, Kristina’s debut album “Free” will be digitally released on February 16, 2010 through SERUM/Universal Music Christian Group. She was #17 on Canada’s Top 20 Singles chart as of Jan. 20th, beating out Nina Simone and Madonna with her hit single “It’s Only You”. She came in at #9 on the OurStage.com R&B charts for January, effectively crossing over, and won for the month of September 2009 on OurStage.com in the Christian category, garnering her song play to over 72 million listeners via WinAmp. Her single “Say O” just hit the Soul charts there at #31. 

Kristina’s label, SERUM, has adopted a performing arts school in Brooklyn and will be hosting several concerts over the next few months there to help raise monies and awareness on education cuts to Arts programs, with Kristina headlining, and special guest appearances by renowned recording artists. We're happy to see SERUM sowing back into to community and along with Kristina making a difference to young people who have been gifted with musical abilities. As Christian's, we need to sow more. Not just for a great harvest but so the people coming after us have a better start than us, so they can start, not where we started but where are now and go on to do greater things than us. We have to sow seeds, take care of them and watch them grow.
